3-year-old left traumatised after sexual assault by driver in Dubai

Dubai - A complaint was filed in July at Al Barsha police station. The driver has been detained ever since.

A three-year-old boy told his mother he wanted to die after he was allegedly molested by the family's driver, a Dubai court has heard. He also told her that he hated their living room couch, where the alleged molestation happened.
The court of first instance heard that the 57-year-old man, an Asian who stayed at the boy's house as he worked as a driver, molested him when no one was around.
A complaint was filed in July at Al Barsha police station. The driver has been detained ever since.
A police officer said: "The boy's mother came to file a complaint against the defendant. She was very upset and on the verge of crying. She said the accused was her maid's husband and used to drop some children to the nursery. She told him to drop her son, too."
About a week before the complaint, the mother said she heard neighbours "talking about the defendant molesting their sons".
"The women did not want the defendant to drive their sons to the nursery any more. The victim's mother said she waited for one week, during which she was trying to learn from her child whether the accused had molested him. She was later shocked to hear her son recounting innocently what the accused had done to him on the couch in the living room. She immediately complained against the defendant at the police station," the police officer said. "He also said that he does not like the defendant. He showed what the accused had done to him."
The defendant has a criminal record.
