1,500 court cases filed online in RAK in 5 months

The Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) courts have received 1.500 lawsuits online in the last five months, according to a top official. 
"The electronic registration of lawsuits launched in April is gaining popularity among residents," said Ibrahim Al Zaabi, director- general of the RAK courts.
He added that filing of lawsuits has seen a significant rise of 23 per cent since the launch of the e-system." 
The initiative is part of the RAK government's efforts to adopt smart systems to provide flawless services for the people. 
The RAK courts have also launched another smart services that gives advocates and law firms access to lawsuits registered remotely. Mohammed Fawzi, a lawyer, said the new service has made their job as advocates much easier. 
"It simplifies our registration, bring happiness to customers, and replace paper transactions with electronic ones."
