The UAE residents will enjoy a long five-day weekend on the eve of the Commemoration Day and the UAE National Day.
The Commemoration Day, which was called Martyrs’ Day earlier, is a national occasion to remember the ultimate sacrifice of the noblest sons of the UAE who gave up their lives for the glory of this great nation, to defend its security and interests.
The UAE will celebrate its 49th National Day on December 2-3, 2020. Dubbed the Spirit of the Union, the National Day marks the unification of all seven Emirates into one nation. From dazzling firework displays to elaborate parades and glittering ceremonies, UAE National Day is a time when locals and expatriates gather together to celebrate.
According to the UAE government’s website, the residents will have one-day holiday on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 to mark the Commemoration Day. And another two-day break on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 and Thursday, December 3, 2020. These three public holidays plus two-day weekend will get the residents much-needed five-day break.
