Abu Dhabi Police have called on motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility caused by a fog. The police urged motorists to follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
The police posted the message in four languages— Arabic, English, Hindi and Malayalam — with #urgent.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has warned of a fog possibility for Friday, January 1, from 12.10am to 9.30am. It also warned of reduced visibility caused by the fog.
In Abu Dhabi, speed limits are usually reduced to 80kmph during adverse weather conditions.
The rest of Friday will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some Western areas, the sea and the islands by noon with a probability of light rain, the NCM says.
The weather bureau says it will be humid by night and on Saturday morning over inland areas, especially Westward.
The top temperature will be 26 degrees in inland areas.
There will be moderate Northeasterly to Northwesterly winds in general and freshening at times.
Conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea
