Several police patrols will hit Sharjah streets on New Year’s Eve (NYE) to ensure smooth traffic flow. Officers will also ensure that revellers adhere to all Covid safety measures specified by the police.

Residents must maintain at least four metres of distance from one another; wear face masks at all times; and constantly sanitise their hands.

Brigadier Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Naour, Director-General of Central Operations and Chairman of the Executive Committee for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management, said the police have put in place a “comprehensive security plan” to ensure public safety on NYE.
The officer said all police stations and operations room are set to receive complaints round the clock.
He urged residents to cooperate with the police and adhere to traffic instructions.
