Ministry of Infrastructure Development is in the process of creating six emergency points geared towards reducing response time along federal roads in UAE.
During a meeting at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development's office in the southern region, Engineer Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi heard the details of the joint collaboration between the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Ministry of Interior. The meeting was to discuss work done on projects to enhance the traffic safety, security, and reducing emergency response time along federal roads, as reported by Sharjah24.
This came as a part of the efforts of the Government Accelerators team's goal to reduce traffic accident fatalities.
Ahmed Al Hammadi, director of the roads department at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, said that according to the project, six joint emergency points will be established in the first stage, comprising a helicopter landing pad and joint areas of access for the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Air Ambulance and Ambulance service, and Civil Defence.
"The two ministries carried out a study which identified the optimal points for the emergency point locations," he added.
The joint emergency team will enable an immediate response to any situation, accident or emergency that arises along the road.
A study has also been conducted of all the hospitals in the country, their specialisations, and their readiness for receiving traffic accident injuries.
This allows the correct action to be taken once an emergency arises.
