 A 17-year-old died and four were seriously injured in a jet ski crash in on Thursday evening in Khor Fakkan beach.
Police said a group of teenagers were riding a jet ski which crashed, due to improper driving it and lack of safety.
The police received a call at the operation room and dispatched the nearest patrol and rescue team to cope up with the emergency.  When the team reached the site, they found a found the teenage boy had already drowned as he didn't know how to swim.  Four others were rushed to the hospital for treatment and Police confirmed that their condition is now stable. They shall be discharged today evening from the hospital.
A top official said that the police launched an intensified awareness campaign for beachgoers and Jet Ski users to check the weather and be in the authorized areas only. 
Police have deployed rescue unit and patrol around all beaches in the emirate of Sharjah to spread awareness by distributing warning and advice publication and meet with any emergency to minimise drowning incidents, which increase during this time of the year.
Police in coordination with concerned authorities plans to intensify inspection from Sunday targeting jet ski companies to ensure they follow the safety measures. The violators will be subjected to a tough penalty.
