The Dubai Police have introduced new and unique services through its smart app.
Brigadier-General Khalid Nasser Al Razzouqi, director-general of the Dubai Police's Department of Artificial Intelligence, said they have also launched the new and updated app for iOS. The new update contains a number of distinctive services as well as a fresh interface, enabling it to be more interactive and allowing users easier access to all its services and features.
Among the new services available through the app is the provision to report vehicles that are obstructing traffic. This can be done through specific procedures such as taking a picture of the vehicle and submitting it by clicking on the icon showing obstructed vehicles. Further data can then be entered and sent to the Dubai Police, which will in turn contact the vehicle owner and instruct him or her to move the car.
The new feature has been added to the query and payment of traffic violations on the app's home page, in addition to other shortcut tools to access traffic services.
Brig-Gen Al Razzouqi confirmed that the public can now register themselves on the app using their Emirates ID number, which in turn enables them to use the My Wallet feature to view all their cards - EID, vehicle registration and driver's licence.
As part of the Dubai Smart Government and Dubai Smart City initiatives, the Dubai Police - in cooperation with all its main departments and the AI department - is keen to transfer and provide all services for public through smartphone apps.
