People die day and night. But to pass away while offering condolences on the death of another one is a different story. This is what has actually happened in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah recently.
A 33-year-old Sudanese young man died of a heart attack while advising the people around on sudden death at a condolence majlis here.
Eyewitnesses said the victim, identified as A.S., was offering condolences on the death of a woman of the same nationality after the 'Isha' or late evening prayer.
"The deceased was not suffering any diseases and was in good health," according to the doctors and some of his relatives.
The young man used to work as an electric technician with a federal government entity in Ras Al Khaimah, they added.
"He participated in the funeral prayer of a Sudanese woman, following which he took part in the burial procedures at the Filya Cemetery, and then headed to the condolence majlis at the Sudanese Social Club."
However, the young man suffered a cardiac arrest while sitting among the people there, they said. "Everybody tried to offer help and rescue the victim, while waiting for an ambulance to shift him to the nearest hospital."
Though the deceased was rushed to the Ibrahim bin Hamad Obaidullah Hospital in a record time, he was shortly declared dead. "As per the forensic report he died of a severe heart attack."
