The Ras Al Khaimah Police has united the inmates with their families at a mass Iftar in a bid to bring them happiness.
Brigadier Yaqub Yusuf Abu Lailah, director of the institution, said that the move is in line with the spirit of giving and solidarity which marks the holy month of Ramadan.
"The mass Iftar, organised in collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society and the community development centre in Ras Al Khaimah was also aimed at marking the Year of Zayed. Such friendly gatherings add to the pleasure and satisfaction of the inmates and that of their families," Brigadier Yaqub added.
The institution had invited the families to join the inmates at a mass Iftar in order to uplift their spirits in a friendly atmosphere.
The RAK police spare no effort when it comes to carrying out activities that help in bringing about a change in the inmates and that programmes like these help in getting the inmates back into the society and turning them into good citizens", Brig. Abu Lailah underlined.
