The central operations room of the RAK Police immediately dispatched police patrols, an ambulance, paramedics and rescue teams to the site after being alerted of the incident.
Khalifa Al Muhairi, chairman of the RAK fishermen society, late on Tuesday said that the mishap took place on the coasts of Shaam town, around 40km to the north of RAK city.
"The Emirati victim, identified only as S.S. K., is the owner of the fishing boat," he said.
Sources at the hospital said that the 50-year-old Emirati Nookhaza received some bruises and injuries to his chest and both feet. "The 28-year-old Indian worker had a fracture in one of his right ribs."
Both victims were discharged shortly after receiving medical care. There was no need to hospitalise them, sources added.
Informed sources said the blast took place around 5.30pm during a regular fishing trip.
