Driver injured after truck flips over on RAK road

Ras Al Khaimah - Investigations are underway to discover the reasons behind the accident.

An Asian driver sustained injuries after his truck flipped over on the Khor Khweir Road in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
On being alerted of the accident, the central operations room rushed traffic patrols, an ambulance, paramedics and civil defence as well as rescue teams to the reported site.
Sources at the civil defence department said the driver was trapped in the overturned truck. "RAK civil defence rescue teams used special hydraulic gadgets to pull him out." The paramedics gave him first aid and shifted him to the nearest hospital, they added.
"Investigations are underway to ascertain the reasons behind the accident," the sources pointed out. "The accident file has been referred to the bodies concerned for legal action."
The civil defence has called on all drivers, particularly those of heavy trucks, to keep full focus on the road and avoid any kind of distraction.
"Exhaustion and long hours of driving are some of the primary reasons behind truck accidents in RAK."
