A 21-year-old Asian man was rescued from drowning at the Al Rams beach by the quick-acting coast guards.
After being alerted about the accident, the central operations room of the RAK Police dispatched paramedics and rescue teams to the site immediately. However, the coast guards had already saved the man.
The paramedics provided him with first aid, and rushed him to the nearest hospital for treatment and medical care, according to police sources. "His condition is stable now."
Swimming at prohibited zones is highly dangerous, they added. "Swimming at improper times when the sea is rough or unstable is also risky."
Late last July, a six-year-old Pakistani girl was drowned to death in the swimming pool of a hotel. "The young girl could not make it and was declared dead on the spot."
Major Abdullah Ali Anun Al Nuaimi, acting chief of the city police station, said the accident took place in one of the resorts of the emirate.
All parents must keep an eye on their kids while swimming, he cautioned. "Young kids should never ever be left unattended in a swimming pool."
 
 
In July this year, a 1-year seven-month-old Emirati toddler died after drowning in a swimming pool in a home at Khat area in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
A nine-year-old boy drowned to death in the beach behind the Saudi Institute in Ras Al Khaimah city on June 26.
