The Ras Al Khaimah Police, as part of their campaign against abandoned vehicles across the emirate, have found 31 of these in just one area.
Major Salem Burqiba, head of traffic patrols section, said: "We will contact the owners of these vehicles to remove them within 10 days. Failing to do so, the vehicle shall be impounded, and will only be released after the payment of fines."
Warning notices have been stuck on four of these vehicles to remove them within 10 days, he added.
The remaining 27 vehicles have been impounded and moved to the traffic police impoundment yard.
"Some of the impounded vehicles were totally damaged, while others were left with no number plates," said Burqiba.
Leaving a vehicle unattended for a long time also turns it into a hideout for criminals and illegal practices, he said.
