The Ras Al Khaimah Police have deployed 50 traffic and security patrols across the emirate to ensure public safety and security during the Eid season.
Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the RAK Police, said the patrols are mainly covering tourist places, parks, markets, residential areas and public gatherings.
"Besides, over 120,000 surveillance cameras are also installed to protect people from criminals and curb illegal practices, if any."
Some patrols will be stationed at the 'open prayer areas' to ensure traffic flow, he added
Both internal roads and highways of the emirate will be monitored by advanced surveillance cameras round the clock, he added.
"Ambulances and rescue teams will also be available on call in collaboration with the National Ambulance department."
The correctional and punitive institutions in the emirate will remain open for visitors during the Eid days.  "Women can visit male inmates from 2pm to 6pm on the first day of the Eid Al Adha, while men ward shall be open on the second day of the feast for male visitors from 2pm to 6pm."
As for women and minors, it will be open for visit for all on the third day of the feast from 3pm to 6pm, he added. Maj-Gen Nuaimi also urged parents to keep an eye on their kids.
"The Eid is for having fun not for racing, fighting, disturbing others, or playing with dangerous fireworks," he said.
"Let's enjoy the festivals and forget all about regrettable deeds."
Maj-Gen Nuaimi also urged beachgoers to avoid areas with high currents and swim only at the designated areas.
"Young children should never be left unwatched while swimming in the sea, and all swimmers, be they adults or young, should always wear life jackets."
Four marine rescue patrols will be watching the beaches and coasts of the emirate. He said: "Each marine patrol consists of professional rescuers, search and assistance experts, guards, and jet skis or water-powered bikes."
The Air Wing is also geared up, with four choppers, to immediately respond to emergency cases, Maj-Gen Nuaimi said. "Our well-trained rescuers are equipped with the latest search and rescue devices to handle any situation in a professional way."
Maj-Gen Nuaimi said the RAK Police spare no effort to help the Emirati nationals and residents all the time.
"The Central Operations Room, reachable at 999, is all set to instantly respond to any emergency case round the clock during the holiday."
