MS Dhoni's cameo in vain as five-time champions dealt thrid loss but hold on to third place in the standings
Dr Shaikh Hazza bin Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Emirates Heritage Club and Director-General of the CMC, unveiled the model of the world’s largest heritage gate carrying Shaikh Khalifa’s name in 200 languages.
Shaikh Hazza then moved to the Emirates Palace to reveal the largest ID card in the world, holding Shaikh Khalifa’s name and picture as part of the national initiative and two printed and online versions of an encyclopedia called Khalifa in World Languages.
He also opened a calligraphy exhibition featuring Shaikh Khalifa’s name in more than 100 genres of Arabic calligraphy.
Addressing the glittering ceremony, CMC Deputy Director Ahmed Saeed Al Rumaithi said the initiative translates the deep love and loyalty for the UAE leader.
“The initiative aims to pay profound tribute and gratitude to President (Shaikh) Khalifa who beat all expectations and won praise from all over the world,” he said, adding that the initiative underlines the CMC’s vision to promote cultural diversity the UAE boasts of.
Later, Shaikh Hazza watched operetta ‘Khalifa in World Languages’ which was gifted to Shaikh Khalifa to express love and loyalty of the people of the UAE and expatriate residents.
The heritage gate is designed to the highest international standards to reflect the project’s aims and become a attraction to lure visitors from within the UAE and beyond.
Standing 25 metres tall, the door will inspire local and international artists to leave their mark on the door by inscribing ‘Khalifa’ in their own languages and styles.
