Zayed, Rulers exchange Eid greetings

ABU DHABI - The President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, received and exchanged Eid Al Adha greetings with His Highness Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at Al Bahr Palace here yesterday.

Shaikh Zayed received greetings by telephone from His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Ruler of Oman, His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, King Abdullah of Jordan, president Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, and Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence and Civil Aviation.

His Highness Shaikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, sent a cable of greetings to Shaikh Zayed.

Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the emirates, Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of Sharjah, Shaikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah, Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, Shaikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Muallah of Umm Al Quwain , Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, sent similar cables to Shaikh Zayed and Shaikh Maktoum. The Rulers wished good health to Shaikh Zayed and more progress and prosperity to the UAE people. They also exchanged greetings on the occasion and sent greeting cables to AGCC, Arab and Islamic leaders.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, sent a cable of Eid greetings to Shaikh Zayed. Shaikh Khalifa sent similar cables to Shaikh Maktoum and the Rulers of the emirates. He exchanged greetings on the occasion with Crown Princes of the emirates and sent greeting cables to AGCC , Arab and Islamic leaders.

General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, sent a cable of Eid greetings to Shaikh Zayed, Shaikh Maktoum, Rulers of the emirates, their Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers. Gen. Shaikh Mohammed also sent greeting cables to Shaikh Khalifa, Shaikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Lt.-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, and Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Abu Dhabi's Eastern Region.

Gen. Shaikh Mohammed also sent Eid greeting cables to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Ruler of Oman, His Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, His Majesty the King of Bahrain, Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and to other AGCC crown princes.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance and Industry, sent Eid greeting cables to Shaikh Zayed, Shaikh Maktoum and to Rulers of the emirates, crown princes and deputy rulers.

Shaikh Zayed sent cables of Eid greetings to Arab and islamic heads of state. Shaikh Maktoum sent similar cables to the Arab and Islamic leaders.

Today Shaikh Zayed will receive at Al Bahr Palace well-wishers.

The well-wishers will include Shaikhs, ministers, members of both the National Consultative Council and the Federal National Council in addition to senior military and civilian officials and UAE nationals.

Shaikh Zayed will receive the Rulers of the emirates along with their crown princes on the second day of the Eid.

Yesterday he received cables of Eid greetings from the crown princes of the emirates and from Shaikh Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, the Ruler's Representative in Abu Dhabi's Western Region and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Municipality and Town Planning, and from Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed.
