UAE to host International Parliament for Safety and Peace headquarters in Middle East

The UAE is to host the first headquarters of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace in the Middle East as token of appreciation for its leading role in combating terrorism in the region.

The move crowns the tireless efforts of the country to ensure security and peace worldwide, confront terrorism around the globe, and boost stability and happiness of all mankind.

The high profile delegation of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace, in an official visit to the UAE, has also given nod to the nomination of the prominent Emirati businessman Nasser Mohammed Al Shamsi as member of the parliament.

Al Shamsi will then cooperate with other members in supporting safety security and peace efforts, combating terror acts overwhelming different hotspots in the Middle East and the world by and large.

The announcement was made in a press conference held at the Emirates Towers  Dubai on Tuesday in the presence of the Moroccan Consul General to the UAE Mohammad Al Barnoosi and Al Fredo  Maaoaleez, Minister of Middle East Affairs at the International Parliament of  Safety and Peace, Nasser Mohammed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Liwa Media Group in Abu Dhabi, Etimaad Al Amrani, CEO of Liwa Economic and Media Services Agency in Morocco and Dr Mohammed Zakaria Imam, Director of ME Affairs in the International Parliament for Safety and Peace.

The International Parliament for Safety and Peace, the UAE Liwa Group, and Moroccan Liwa Agency also inked three agreements. The first and second of these called for joint action to organize local, regional and international events,especially on boosting the state of safety, security and peace such as conferences, forums and gatherings all  year round.

The Liwa Group in Abu Dhabi, Liwa Agency in Morocco and the International Parliament for Safety and Peace also signed a third agreement to hold an international conference on counter-terrorism efforts, current challenges and future prospective.

The convention, to be hosted by Morocco in the first quarter next year under the theme: ‘Development curb terror movements’, is to shed light on the best international practices in fighting terrorism; the gravest phenomenon of modern age.

Paying a tribute to the UAE prudent leadership, HE Nasser Al Shamsi said the high ranking position of the country worldwide is a true reflection of its good reputation.

“Such a pioneering stature is also due to the incessant effort of our sagacious leadership led by President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the rulers of the UAE.”

It is really an honour for the UAE to host the first head office of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace in the Middle East in general and the gulf region in particular, he added.

“We do appreciate the move which follows in-depth discussions with the honorable delegation of the parliament.”

Dr Etimad Al Amrani, CEO - Liwa Economic and Media Services Agency Morocco, said the UAE selected to host the first Middle East headquarters of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace shows how trust-worthy the UAE is to international organizations.

“This is basically due to the stability, safety, security, good reputation, and pioneering stature of the UAE in all levels, let alone the prudent leadership’s commitment to world peace and values of tolerance to ensure better life for all humanity now and in the future.”

The presidency of the International Parliament for Safety and Peace is to receive a delegation from the Liwa Media Group, headed by HE Nasser Al Shamsi, to discuss the executive procedures needed to put the decision in place, she stated.

Dr Amrani added that such outstanding anti-terrorism practices are critical for stability and give societies an invaluable chance to grow and develop. “This will spread safety and peace all over the planet as eagerly anticipated by human beings in every nook and corner.”

The UAE’s robust expertise in this regard is so inspiring, she pointed out. “The UAE will, therefore, be present in the conference to be run in Morocco which has managed to set the right equation of safety and peace under the prudent vision of the His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.”
