Trial in black magic case adjourned

AJMAN - The Ajman Court of First Instance adjourned till May 8 the trial in the case of a Moroccan national and his woman accomplice who allegedly tricked people by taking money to solve marital issues using black magical powers.

The woman accused allegedly used her job in a ladies salon to canvas customers and send them to the black magician for some commission. The first accused met the women at the salon with the help of the woman and handed over candles and pieces of leads to his customers in which some unknown letters were written.

The case dates back to March last year when police set trap to arrest the first accused red handed after receiving tip off that a magician is practicing black magic to make money. The police raided his apartment while a policeman in civil dress approached him posing as a client. He was arrested red-handed while receiving Dh2,000 from the police decoy. The police also seized all items used by the accused for performing black magic. During interrogation, he confessed to duping many women with the help of the second accused by convincing them that he could solve their martial issues.

The second accused said that she only sent two women to the first accused to read Quran for them.
