UAE rulers attend Mother of the Nation Festival

Abu Dhabi - Other dignitaries also attended the festival at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and shaikhs on Monday attended the Mother of the Nation Festival, which was launched to honour  Her Highness Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, and Head of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
Other shaikhs who attended the festival at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre include His Highness Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman; Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; Shaikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain; Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; Shaikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region; Shaikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region; Shaikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan Shaikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Shaikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Lt. Ministers, senior officials and a large number guests were also present.
In the opening show of the festival, a light and music extravaganza of seven scenes highlighted the far-reaching efforts and wisdom of Shaikha Fatima, the stature and compassion of mothers and women, the dreams of childhood, the importance of science and knowledge, as well as the achievements made by Emirati women and mothers thanks to the support extended by the Mother of the Nation.
The finale scene featured a  symphony of thanks and appreciation to Shaikha Fatima. Later, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented the Shaikh Zayed Order, which was conferred on Monday on Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Shaikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, who represented Shaikha Fatima.
The audience then watched a live broadcast from Burj Khalifa in Dubai which was engulfed with bright coloured light to mark the occasion while the Dubai Fountain was jetting a high performance of light, music and water.
