Based on Shaikh Mohammed’s directives, the “Noor Dubai Foundation”, which will be an independent body with full financial and administrative independence, shall remain a full charitable and humanitarian body.

The new development followed a meeting held here on Friday when the Dubai Ruler received at his office at the Emirates Towers Hotel members of the working team of the Noor Dubai Initiative, in the presence of Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister ofCabinet Affairs.

The team, led by Qadhi Saeed Al-Muroshid, Director-General of Dubai Health Authority and Executive Director of the Noor Dubai Initiative, briefed Shaikh Mohammed about the achievements of the initiative, including the number of eye cases it had successfully treated inside the UAE and abroad, in third world countries.

Shaikh Mohammed expressed satisfaction at the successes of the initiative which he launched last year during the holy month of Ramadan. He commended the team for a job well done and pledged his continuous support for the foundation and ordered it to expand its programmes and activities to reach more needy people across the world.

Al Muroshid thanked Shaikh Mohammed for the kind gesture which, he said, had brought hope and relief to poor and low-income groups of people in poor and third world countries, irrespective of the beneficiaries’ race, religion or colour.
