New managers for Al Qasba, Al Majaz Waterfront, Heart of Sharjah

Three Emiratis were appointed as new managers Sharjah’s three tourist destinations Al Qasba, Al Majaz Waterfront and the Heart of Sharjah project in resolutions by the Chairwoman of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi.

The resolutions appointed Sultan Mohammed Shattaf as a manager of Al Qasba and Mohammed Fadhel Al Mazroui as manager of Al Majaz Waterfront, while Yousuf Ahmed Al Mutawa has been appointed as manager of the Heart of Sharjah project.

The move aims to enhance growth, encourage qualified Emiratis, and enrich the Authority’s national human capital to ensure quality service delivery to the UAE society.

Expressing her confidence in the newly appointed managers, Shaikha Bodour said: “I believe that they will embrace these new challenges with the same spirit of enthusiasm and dedication they showed in their previous posts.”

Shaikha Bodour urged them to double efforts and invest their vast experiences and skills in better serving and developing the destinations they have been assigned to manage, and emphasized the high aspirations of these young Emiratis to achieve excellence, along with their previous experiences and vast achievements, would help them achieve further success in their new assignments.

“Shurooq has been focusing on developing human resources in support of the Emiratization process, and these appointments are in line with aims to meet this goal. The new managers of these premier tourist destinations are true examples of creative and outstanding Emiratis,” Shaikha Bodour said.

The newly appointed managers expressed their gratitude to Shaikha Bodour and Marwan Bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Shurooq, for the great trust bestowed on them, and highlighted their pride in being part of Shurooq - which has grown significantly to become one of the most prominent institutions in Sharjah.

They said that working as part of Shurooq’s team has enabled them to broaden their knowledge, enrich their experiences and hone their skills.

The appointments come as part of an ambitious long-term plan to develop and increase Emirati human resources in line with Shurooq’s commitment to encouraging and attracting qualified and outstanding Emiratis to work for the Authority. Shurooq’s efforts to provide the appropriate working environment, training and development opportunities, as well as incentives to encourage its employees to create and excel have helped increase the number of Emirati staff members employed by the Authority substantially.

Established in 2009, Shurooq is currently involved in the development and upgrading of several landmark projects, such as Al Majaz Waterfront and Al Qasba.

As part of its rich portfolio of quality projects, it is focused on reviving the cultural heritage of historical buildings and transforming them into modern tourist attractions, so as to reflect the true image and cultural reputation of Sharjah.
