Mohammed’s son wins ‘Sword of Honour' at Sandhurst

LONDON — His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the graduation ceremony of a new batch from Sandhurst Royal Military Academy yesterday.

Among the 300 cadet officers from the UK, the UAE and other countries in the Middle East, was Shaikh Mayed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who was declared the top achiever of his batch. He was presented the Sword of Honour by King Abdullah of Jordan, who attended the ceremony as the Guest of Honour.

In remarks after the graduation ceremony, Shaikh Mohammed said he was proud of the performance of Shaikh Mayed, adding that his outstanding performance was a proof that UAE youth in particular and Arabs in general had been endowed with excellence and creativity. Shaikh Mohammed also hailed the quality of training in the UAE military schools.


The ceremony was attended by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Minister of Presidential Affairs Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other Shaikhs.uae
