Dubai -- Over 1,200 volunteers from all nationalities have come together in a huge show of support for the 9th Mawaed Al Rahman initiative announced by du and the Tarahum Charity Foundation this year.

In line with the Ramadan initiative, du staff and volunteers packed 20,000 reusable, environmentally friendly boxes with essential Ramadan food items over two weeks, and are now distributing them to families of all nationalities.

This initiative is supported by du’s Emirati Plan customers, as 5% of their monthly fee is used by the telecom company for the UAE’s social development.

“We are overwhelmed by the show of support from all quarters of the community for this initiative. We are privileged to have served as the platform that enabled UAE residents to reach out to other lesser privileged families and add happiness to their lives,” said Hala Badri, Executive Vice President, Brand and Communications, du.

“We thank all the volunteers who have supported us so far and enabled us to finish the packing ahead of schedule. We invite all members of our nation to join us in distributing the food boxes.”
