The centre has received a message from Dr Mahmud Abd Dhaher, the author of the book, saying that the study has caused anxiety in Israel. This, Dr Abd Dhaher said, indicated the paramount importance of water for Israel, a decisive factor for Israel's national security.

In the book, Dr Abd Dhaher traces Israel's persistent efforts since 1967 to seize the Arab waters. After the occupation of Arab land in 1967, Israel banned Palestinians from using their own water and declared that Palestinian water belonged to the Jewish entity. The author concludes that there is no water shortage in Israel, compared to Arab states in the region, but Israel tries to exaggerate the problem so that it can acquire more concessions from the Arabs in this field.
