It was here that the Shaikha Latifa bint Mohammed Award for Childhood Creativity was introduced to recognise the hidden talent in children as part of the DSF's initiative of honouring and presenting awards in as many categories as possible.

The DSF office in association with the Shaikha Latifa bint Mohammed Award is now introducing the Dubai Creativity at Play award for children from schools falling under the Dubai Education Zone. The competing children, below the age of 12, will be judged for two categories — one for their script and the other in stage performance including directing, playing of music, singing, all based on Dubai themes and presentation of fashion, decoration and accessories.

The plays are being presented on the stage at Children's City from 10am till 10pm until February 1.

The finals will be held at the Al Nahda Women's Association on February 9, 2005.

The idea behind the awards is to encourage the students to be creative and to hone their talent in an entertaining atmosphere which is one of the basic ideas behind the message of the Dubai Shopping Festival.
