Dar Al Ber Society has acknowledged the anti-hate crimes and discrimination law issued by the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Eng. Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie, Chairman of Dar Al Ber Society, said justice and equality are two of the UAE fundamental values that were imparted from the prudent leadership to the people.
"Showing respect to others, peaceful coexistence and denouncing hatred have been clearly stipulated in the laws and legislations of the country which spares no effort protect the rights of all members of the society under the umbrella of law.
"The boons of safety, security and stability spreading over the country are the fruits of an integrated system, visionary strategy, and prudent leadership that have ranked the UAE in an advanced position worldwide," he added.
"People from around the world are attracted to these noble values, enjoying peaceful cohabitation, impartiality, equal opportunity, and absence of discrimination."
The anti-discriminatory law criminalises any acts that stoke religious hatred and/or which insult religion through any form of expression, be it speech or the written word, books, pamphlets or via online media, he pointed out.
"The law, including provisions for punishing anyone for terming other religious groups or individuals as infidels, or unbelievers, is intended to provide a sound foundation for the environment of tolerance, broad mindedness and acceptance in the UAE and aims to safeguard people regardless of their origin, beliefs or race, against acts that promote religious hate and intolerance."
Al Mazrouie said Dar Al Ber Society fights fanaticism and extremism in all its brochures, prints, and lectures, and enlighten the public about the true teachings and values of Islam.
"We have, for instance, prepared, printed and distributed some 10,000 copies of 'Beware extremism, son' book to develop awareness against the negative impact of extremism, and shed light on the moderate, tolerant and Sharia-based principles instead."
Al Mazrouie said Dar Al Ber Society, as per its mission, collaborates with philanthropists to help the poor and needy, and boost the spirit of fraternity and solidarity among all members of the society based on the principles of Islam, human values, and national visions.   "Islam has urged its followers to respectfully and kindly deal with others. The same has been advised by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who was reported as saying: (Whenever there is compassion in something, it adorns it, and whenever it is removed from something it disgraces it.)"
