The official logo of the celebrations was also presented at the workshop.

The workshop was held in the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the patronage of Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmad Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Corporation.

Osama Samrah, Director of the Sharjah Media Centre, gave a detailed presentation of the official guidelines on the usage of the celebrations’ visual identity, and said what has been created this year is an outstanding identity that matches the grandness of the occasion of the UAE’s 40th National Day. Samrah, who is also the Head of the Media Committee of the National Day celebrations in Sharjah, presented the brand identity created according to the strategy of the Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi, which stresses that the official identity has to be inspired by the heritage of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, and has to reflect “the spirit of the Union”.

The identity should also be graphically strong and attract the attention of all targeted segments, in addition to being an omnipresent symbol that can stand on its own even without any supporting textual elements. Samrah explained the elements of the main identity, its primary and secondary colours and guidelines. He also presented incorrect use of the branding elements that should be avoided. — news@khaleejtimes.com
