Bohra spiritual leader opens mosque in Ajman
AJMAN ó Dr Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin, the spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, opened the ceremonial golden lock to inaugurate the new mosque built by the community in Ajman, on Tuesday.
More than 1,000 community members and guests were present on the occasion. Later Dr Syedna led the Zohr prayers in the mosque.
Addressing the people, Dr Syedna quoted from the Holy Quran and the Sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and emphasised the rich rewards that Allah has ordained on those who build the House of Allah and the special role of a Masjid in a Muslimís life.
He bestowed prayers and benedictions on the Ajman community and praised for the beautiful masjid.
He lauded the gesture of His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.
He also prayed for peace and tranquillity throughout the world.
He named this new masjid ĎAl Masjid al Hakimií. This is the fourth masjid inaugurated by Dr Syedna in the UAE.
To facilitate the viewing of the live inaugural ceremony by thousands of men women and children of the community, special arrangements for live telecast were made with large screens at three community venues in Dubai and Sharjah.
Dr Syedna has dedicated his life to the building of mosques across the globe. Itís a life long mission and his era has seen many Islamic restoration works and the use of the Fatimi architecture in numerous projects throughout the world.
