Beeline for Honey

DUBAI - Cosmetics made from honey mixtures and medicinal honey are attracting huge crowds at the Honey Festival being held at Al Seef Street as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival 2009 (DSF).
 The Honey Festival, an exhibition and sale of different honey products from around the world, will continue till February 13. It is open between 5pm and 10pm.

Around 15 local vendors are displaying honey products from Yemen, Lebanon, Pakistan, Iran and other countries.
Visitors can taste from a variety of honey samples before buying and go through a number of information pamphlets on the benefits of honey including its antibacterial properties.
 The free daily competition of locating the mysterious door at Khan Murjan, the inspired recreation of a historic 14^th century souq, at Wafi has not been located for the last seven days. Officials at Wafi have, therefore, hiked the prize money to Dh35,000.

‘Gong Bath’

Residents and visitors to Dubai can listen to acclaimed gong-master Don Conreaux when he presents the sounds of gongs at Zabeel Park, Area C, on Saturday. The first performance was on Friday. The one-hour session begins at 7.30pm. Based on the concept of sound healing and therapy, the ‘Gong Bath’ takes listeners to a world of serenity .

The event will also feature singing bulls, conch shells, flutes and other sound healing instruments.

For the past 30 years, Don Conreaux has brought the mystical and entertaining sounds of the ancient bronze gong (tam tam), bells, bell bowls, and the spiral sea horn (conch) to millions of listeners.
