Dubai — In line with the UAE Initiative for Connection with Orphans and Minors launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Dubai Culture, has joined hands with the General Command of the Civil Defence to organise awareness activities for orphans and families on safety concepts during the holy month of Ramadan.

The campaign is being held at the Heritage Village in Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood for a week. It educates UAE nationals, residents and visitors on the essential role that Civil Defence plays in protecting their lives and property, and thus contribute to the nation’s sustainable development.

Several activities and programmes are being showcased, including an awareness fair on safety equipment, cultural competitions for the audience, tour with ‘Salem Figherfighter’ characters within the village, presentation of general command of the civil defence vehicles, ‘Al Salamah’ village theatre and distribution of brochures.

Dubai Culture plays a pivotal role in driving awareness of and strengthening Emirati heritage and national identity, and is committed to strengthening the cultural landscape of Dubai by building on its rich Arabian heritage, nurturing and promoting talent, and encouraging intercultural dialogue between the city’s communities.

The event was attended by a number of senior officials. - Wam
