Al Gharbia Career Fair 2012 concludes

The 5th annual “Al Gharbia Career Fair” 2012 that was led by the Western Region Development Council (WRDC) and the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) concluded on Monday.

The four day fair took place at two different campuses of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) starting with Madinat Zayed before moving on to Al Ruwais. Over 30 participants from various educational institutions, governmental and private entities took part in the fair that was sponsored by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and its various subsidiaries namely, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage (ADACH) and Bin Asheer Transport & General Contracting Establishment.

The success of the fair was reflected in the large number of visitors that attended the event and included students from various schools and colleges that were given assigned visitation timings. Fair participants aimed at attracting highly qualified UAE nationals in line with the Emiratisation strategy to foster the citizens’ employment in the public and private sectors by leveraging their expertise.

Participants witnessed great interest from numerous visitors whom were keen to enquire about different employment opportunities during the entire period of the fair. Over the past five consecutive years, the fair has grown to become a hallmark event on the career front, specialized in the development of the national workforce in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi particularly in Al Gharbia region.

Mohamed Al Hosani, Regional Development Director of the Western Region Development Council, stated: “Al Gharbia Career Fair 2012 reinforces the emiratization strategy in both the public and private sectors and provides UAE nationals with various working opportunities aligned with the Economic Vision 2030. We have organized the event with the aim of promoting the council’s vision, objectives and activities.

Sabha Otaibi, Al Gharbia Career Fair Manager and Recruitment and Placement Officer at the Western Region Development Council said: “The Western Region Development Council continuously thrives to establish effective communication with companies and organizations working in Al Gharbia in order to provide job seekers with multiple career and training opportunities.
