Two children who got trapped after being locked in their family car were rescued by the quick-acting Fujairah civil defence teams. The car was parked at one of the markets of the emirate.
The panicked parents alerted about the incident to the central operations room of the Fujairah Police. An ambulance, paramedics and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the site. The teams swung into action and launched the rescue operation.
"The teams had to use special hydraulic devices to break open the locked car, and get the children released," the civil defence sources revealed.
The two children were handed over to the ambulance and medical teams who assured that they were in good condition.
The worried parents heaved a sigh of relief after the rescue operation.
"Even though the car engine was on and the air conditioner was running, it was still risky because the kids could have messed with the car key and switched off the engine," the sources said.
Had the AC not been on, the car would have turned into an oven in such high temperatures, they underlined.
Many kids have reportedly lost their lives after being left alone in their family vehicles. "Young children should never be left unattended at any time to ensure their safety," the sources pointed out
