Every step is a leap for the UAE

The people of the UAE come together as a nation today to celebrate 45 years of development, milestones and achievements and look forward to the nation's bright and promising future in the National Days of tomorrow.
"What has been achieved over the last 45 years was remarkable and spectacular and of course you all contributed to these achievements, of which we are proud and satisfied," said His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. "We are optimisticabout a promising future which we all are heralding confidently with a holistic national vision; a future that is based on science, diligent work and knowledge, and which we immunise with love, loyalty, values and ethics."
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his part, said that "celebrating National Day gives us, the government and the people, a chance to evaluate ourselves and our performance over the past year, for every year is a leap in the journey of our great Union."
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, called on every citizen to do their part as the nation continues to progress.
"We pledge to the citizens of our nation to continue the journey of development and prosperity. Our nation is calling on you to participate in its growth towards a bright future for our children and grandchildren," he noted.
"We renew our trust in our citizens, supporting their knowledge and ability to face the future with confidence and in keeping with the values embedded in our rich culture."
