An Emirati citizen has waived off a lawsuit he filed against his partner who made him an uncovered cheque of Dh100,000 to mark the Year of Tolerance .
Salem Al Keit, a lawyer, said he dropped the case he filed at the Ras Al Khaimah Misdemeanour Court "to promote this noble value of tolerance in the holy month of forgiveness."
Court records show that the litigants were in an advocacy office partnership. However, they decided to end this partnership, and hence the defendant made him a cheque of Dh100,000. "But that cheque proved to be dud and uncovered."
Though the court would mostly decide in his favour, the complainant decided to put an end to this litigation in view of the Year of Tolerance.
"The UAE prudent leadership spares no effort to spread compassion, love and peace among all members of the society."
