An education fair in the UAE will feature universities that will offer scholarships between Dh13,000 and Dh22,000 for deserving students. Organised by India-based education company Chopras, 'The Global Education Interact - International' (GEI) will make its UAE debut on January 19 to 21, 2017.

The fair will feature 25 universities from nine countries and will host events such as scholarship contests, quiz competitions and on-the-spot admissions.

Students with a penchant for studying engineering can partake in the 'Cardiff Engineering for the Future-Bridge for Sustainable Cities" and the 'Electric Car' competition.

The fair also provides counselling with career counsellors, course selection guidance and post-departure briefing and support post-arrival.
The fair in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will feature universities from the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Ireland, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia and Switzerland. Some of the universities set to partake at the fair include Cardiff University (UK), Trinity College Dubin (Ireland), Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (India), James Cook University (Australia and Singapore), Stirling University (UK), Strathclyde University (UK), Loughborough University (UK), Nottingham Trent University (UK), De Montfort University (UK), Middlesex University (UK) and HTMi (Switzerland).

Naveen Chopra, founder and chairman of The Chopras said: "This is our first international venture and we are poised to offer students and parents in the UAE with the best advice and educational services for all their study abroad needs."
When? Where?
The fair is set to take place from January 19-20, 2017, at the Dubai Grand Excelsior, Bur Dubai and, January 21 at the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi.

Competition open to students from Grade 9 to Grade 12
Competition entries close on January 12, 2017
Students will have to design a bridge using paper
The bridge has to be of the lightest weight, but have the capacity to carry the heaviest load
All entries will be tested by applying load on the bridge. The applied load will be increased gradually until structural failure occurs and the bridge will be rated on the ratio of maximum load carried to self-weight
