More often than not, Dubai is always associated with skyscrapers and luxurious storefronts. But there is another side of Dubai that exists - and it's something both tourists and residents should see at least once.
Far from the emirate's ultra-modern sheen, Dubai has a lot of places which are home to the city's thriving arts scene. It also gives visitors a glimpse into Emirati culture and heritage.
In a video which was shared on various social media platforms, Emirates showcases some of these locations. While a few may not be new to some, tourists looking to have a different experience in Dubai can definitely use it as a guide.

The airline's itinerary, dubbed 'a voyage around real Dubai' put the spotlight on the Textile Souk. During the cooler months, flocks of birds are often huddled in one spot in this area. The Textile Souk is known for its storefronts which display intricate tapestries and traditional buildings.
After that, go for a quick spin around Alserkal Avenue, a hideaway for the arts tucked inside Al Quoz. The area is an industrial area which was converted into an arts district. It houses multiple galleries, a record store and even a cinema which showcases flicks from around the Gulf!
Topping it all is Dubai Design District or D3 as it's called. This hub for arts and design is home to several events such as Sole DXB and MeetD3 - which turns the district into an interactive art festival.
Don't even think for a second that Dubai is just the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab. There's more to the city than luxury and tall buildings.
