The UAE has jumped up three ranks to emerge the top country in the Arab world in 'quality of nationality', according to citizenship planning firm Henley and Partners.
Globally, the UAE has been ranked 46 among 168 countries - up from 49 last year. The Quality of Nationality Index evaluates both the internal (scale of the economy, human development, and peace and stability) and external factors (visa-free travel and the ability to settle and work abroad) that make one nationality better than ano-ther in terms of legal status in which to develop talents and business.
"The UAE ranks 1st in the Arab world on the Quality of Nationality Index 2017 by Henley & Partners," the Dubai Media Office tweeted on Saturday.
The index found that the UAE has improved from 44.5 per cent in 2016 to 45.8 per cent.
In the region, Kuwait has been ranked second (82nd globally) and Saudi Arabia third (89th position globally).
Globally, the top three countries in the index were France, Germany and Iceland.
The vehicles supplied and modified without controls constitute part of the safety challenges, and Esma's technical regulations are required in work-shops and service centres that do vehicle modifications, Al Maeeni added.
