UAE to spread tolerance around the world

The Ministry of Tolerance on Thursday launched two key initiatives that will help promote peaceful coexistence and fight extremism throughout the world, placing UAE as a global leader in its efforts of spreading the message of peace embrace dioverdity through innovatiom and collaboration.
During the opening of the World Tolerance Summit (WTS), Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance, launched the national research project of tolerance, which will promote creativity and innovation among researchers in the UAE and abroad.
The project, he said, will produce proposals and plans for spreading tolerance coexistence and happiness in human societies. "The project will gather researchers across the world in examining factors, conditions and work plans that help strengthen tolerance among individuals, families, local communities and entire world," he told the crowd of delegates and ministers in the summit that gathered over 1,500 personalities, government leaders and peacemakers to discuss collaborative efforts in fighting fanaticism and discrimination. 
Al Nahyan also launched the global tolerance alliance to promoting tolerance throughout the world and affirm everyone's responsibility in spreading harmony and peace in socieities.
Based in the UAE, the alliance will become a global coordinatior for cooperation and joint effort among individuals, organizations, research centers, private enterprises and other interested institutions.
"The purpose is to help spread peace and tolerance, in line with the global dimension of our work to affirm the UAE vision and achieve coexisting and communication throughout the world," said Al Nahyan.
He noted that through these initiatives, the ministry will prove that the "only successful pluralism, supported by useful research and positive dialogue can guarantee a peaceful future in the world."
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the opening of the two-day summit, held for the first time in UAE in line with the International Day of Tolerance.
Under the theme "Prospering from pluralism: embracing diversity through innovation and collaboration," the summit is set to start a global dialogue on countering extremism and issue recommendations and outcomes that help promote peaceful coexistence around the world.
During his address, Al Nahyan said tolerance requires hard work and thrives on education, awareness and knowledge through all forms of communication. "Tolerance comes with the creation of local and global entities that enhance hope and promote peace, prosperity and dignified life for all," said Al Nahyan.
He called on leaders to take the summit as an opportunity to work together in developing a collective capacity to achieve tolerance and peace in the world, while promoting positive participation across different regions.
"I call on you to work together to eradicate misunderstandings about different religions and cultures; to make tolerance an area of entreuenship, innovation and initiative and a cause for joint action and effective participation for benefit and prosperity for all."
He added, "I call on you to agree that pluralism within diverse human societies must become positive and creative force for development and stability in these societies."
Al Nahyan said such big gatherings would become prominent forums for positive dialogue that will strengthen ability share ideas and experiences and enable leaders to listen to each other.
