Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region's largest theme park destination, on Sunday announced its new season line up, featuring the premiere of the Lionsgate zone at Motiongate Dubai and a series of exciting events on the river at Riverland Dubai.

The Lionsgate zone, which will shortly be unveiled to the public, features the world's first rides and attractions inspired by the international blockbuster movie series 'The Hunger Games'. Visitors will be able to take a hair-raising journey from District 12 to the Capitol on the adrenaline-filled half pipe roller coaster, the Capitol Bullet Train and enjoy a 3D flight that soars over Panem and takes guests in touching distance of the iconic landmarks of the Capitol, on the Panem Aerial Tour.

Riverland Dubai, the themed dining, retail and entertainment district at the centre of Dubai Parks and Resorts, has also announced its season line up of free events, including Circus on the River in November and Pets on the River in December and a host of new events during public holidays.  Live outdoor entertainment and alfresco dining along the scenic river will also return, giving friends and families the opportunity to come together and enjoy everything the destination has to offer.

Effective from September 1, 2017, UAE residents will be able to take advantage of the winter season rates of Dh165 for a day ticket to Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai and Legoland Water Park and Dh95 for a day ticket to Bollywood Parks Dubai. The UAE resident rate is available online or at the gate for up to five tickets upon presentation of a valid Emirates ID.

Non-resident ticket prices have also been announced for the winter season, with day tickets ranging from Dh235 per park or Dh285 for two parks. These prices are available from September 1, 2017 giving guests the opportunity to experience over 100 rides and attractions at the destination. Ticket prices are the same for adults and children, with kids below the age of three entering free.

David Loiseau, vice-president of sales and distribution, said: "This is Dubai Parks and Resorts first full winter season and our focus is on delivering new experiences and competitive prices to bring visitors back time and again. This season, The Hunger Games fans from across the globe will be able to experience rides inspired by the blockbuster movie franchise that have never been seen anywhere in the world before. We are joining communities across the UAE to celebrate national holidays with free events along the river at Riverland Dubai. We have also created our very own special signature events like Circus on the River and many others which we expect will become a must-see for families throughout the year."
