His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday shared some photos of his recent trip to a historic landmark in Saudi. He was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, during the visit.
In separate tweets, Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Hamdan shared some snippets of their visit to Mada'in Saleh in Saudi's Al Ula region. Mada'in Saleh is an archaeological site formed around the remains of an ancient kingdom. In 2008, the Unesco proclaimed it as a World Heritage Site for its well-preserved remains and rock-cut monumental tombs.

In his tweet, Sheikh Mohammed wrote: "Al Ula witnessed many civilizations in the past, and a new civilization is being established by my brother King Salman."
According to tweets from the Dubai Media Office, Sheikh Mohammed was in Saudi to attend The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup.
Sheikh Hamdan, on the other hand, tweeted out a stunning video of the scenery around Mada'in Saleh. He said: "Mada'in Saleh is truly a magical place. An ancient civilization lost in history, yet traces of its past has survived till date in several archaeological sites, leaving those who explore them amazed."
