Philippines-bound passengers face 24-hour delay

Hundreds of passengers bound for Manila via Cebu Pacific flight 5J 015 have been waiting at the Dubai International Airport since Monday (July 1) night. 
"Cebu Pacific flight 5J 015 Dubai-Manila scheduled to depart yesterday, July 1, 2019 required additional technical servicing that was discovered during routine ground check. As a result, it was necessary for further maintenance to be carried out in the interest of safety. The affected passengers are being assisted by our ground personnel at the Dubai International Airport with all basic necessities and hotel accommodation. Passengers with limited visas are being provided with lounge access at the airport," a statement by the Philippine budget carrier sent to Khaleej Times, said.
Cebu Pacific also said that the affected passengers will fly out of Dubai on Tuesday (July 2) at 11:25pm (UAE time), after a 24-hour delay.
"Rest assured we are trying to resolve the situation during this peak travel period. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and appeal for your understanding," Cebu Pacific said.
