Learn to let go, instil positivity in yourself, take care of your own self and be an inspiration for your children - these were some of the lessons that parents of determined ones were given at a special session titled 'Care for the Caregivers' that was held at the Mankhool Park on Thursday.
About 70 determined ones were received by teachers from the EduScan Group at the park and were taken to a special section decorated with balloons. Their parents were given time off and were given detoxification spa drinks to relax before they were pampered with free meditation and pampering sessions including free physiotherapy, massages, dental checkups, as well as motivational talks about nurturing powerful relationships as well as self care. The sessions were organised by EduScan Group in collaboration with JustPhysio Physical Rehab and Enaya Car Rentals.
Dr Jameela Ezzi, a physiotherapist, neuroPilates instructor and certified Kinesotape practitioner, pepped up the parents by encouraging them to 'let go' their negative emotions and by asking them to take care of themselves as they are the role models of their children.
"You have to first take care of yourselves and begin your day with meditation to release all negative energies. Do a few minutes of exercise such as 20 squats or by just getting off the lift one floor before your floor so that you climb a flight of stairs and get some physical exercise. Give your self some time, prioritise and help yourself so that you are in the right physical and mental state to take care of your children."
Educational psychologist and director of EduScan Dr Alka Kalra, said: "Today, we managed to achieve our goal by giving them moments of happiness to these parents of the determined ones by taking them through meditation, teaching them to let go, giving them simple beauty tools to de-stress themselves. We made sure parents were chauffeur-driven and brought here with their children. This was to bring in happiness in their lives, where they can feel that they are cared for."
Making sure the personal health isn't compromised and giving parents home remedies to keep their faces bright, beauty health consultant Rima Soni told parents to 'love yourself before loving anyone'. She told them how they could keep their expenses low by using home remedies for grooming themselves.
Nutritionist Neelam Upadhyay spoke about a technique called Emotional freedom technique (EFT) where she told parents how to tap certain points on their body a few times and get rid of any pains, stress or sickness. EFT is based on the science of acupuncture.
