Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police has honoured a Pakistani man who helped save the life of a resident trapped inside a burning vehicle on a Dubai highway.
Hedayatullah Habib was driving the water tank truck that was used to put out the car fire.

Al Marri said that the driver's efforts in saving the resident's life should be a precedent for others and motivate them to be more socially responsible.
He also said that the act of the Pakistani driver who jumped to the rescue of the resident inside the burning vehicle, is commendable. It shows the role of the people as partners contributing towards the success of the Dubai Police. 
Sergeant Mohammed Ahmed Mahfouz from the general directorate of transport and rescue team was driving home, when he saw a burning 4WD vehicle on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.
In a video of the rescue act posted by the Dubai Police on their Instagram account on Saturday, the officer was seen approaching the burning vehicle cautiously, trying to open the door and then climbing on the foot railing of the vehicle to force the door open, but being unable to do so.
It was later that by the help of a Pakistani water tanker driver, that he extinguished the flames by using a hose.
