What better way to exchange 'I dos' than being tucked away in the desert, in the middle of two heart-shaped lakes?
The serene, man-made park aptly called 'Love Lakes' was recently transformed into a charming scenery for nine Chinese couples who celebrated their wedding in Dubai.
It was the first time that the islands near Al Qudra have been used for an exclusive, private event. It had all the trappings of a Dubai spectacle and the touch of Chinese culture.
Amid the backdrop of undulating sand dunes, the brides came down the aisle in gowns designed, tailored and put together by one of China's leading wedding and evening dress companies.  Little boys and girls threw rose petals on the sand as romantic classical music was played in the background.
The glamorous occasion for the nine Chinese couples was made possible by Hala China, a joint initiative by Meraas and Dubai Holding. It was an event that celebrated now just the marriage of the couples but also the tolerance and respect that bind the UAE and China, according to a video tweeted by the Dubai Media Office (DMO) on Wednesday.
Held during the Year of Tolerance, the group wedding served as a testament to the nation's commitment to celebrating different cultures and offering a place where people from all over the world can feel at home.
Where is Love Lakes?
Dug deep through Al Salam Desert, Love Lakes is approximately 10 minutes away from Al Qudra Lake. From above, the man-made lakes form two intertwined gigantic hearts. The place is not just for the romantics but also for nature lovers as there are around 150 species of birds including falcons, eagles, ducks and swans roaming freely around the lakes.
