Multiple accidents were reported across UAE on Wednesday morning, causing traffic congestion and tailbacks on major roads.
Dubai Police reported an accident on Emirates Road through their official Twitter handle.
"A heavy vehicle accident on Emirates Road after Al Maktoum Airport towards Abu Dhabi, kindly take caution," their tweet read.

According to a traffic monitoring page TrafficDXB, an accident was reported on E11 Al Itihad Road opposite to Dubai Airport towards Sharjah, causing added congestion to rush-hour traffic in the area.

Another accident occurred on Sheikh Zayed Road near Al Barsha Police Station, causing further traffic congestion in and around the area.

Heavy traffic in Sharjah was reported on the Al Nahda Street, Muhaisnah, Industrial Area 15 and near the National Paints Factory.
Road closures, traffic diversions

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) earlier posted on its official Twitter handle a notification for commuters heading towards Deira about a temporary traffic diversion in the area.
"Expected delays in traffic from Airport tunnel heading towards Deira due to a temporary traffic diversion in the area. Please use the alternative routes such as Nadd Al Hamar Street, Rebat Street and the internal streets in Umm Ramoul to reach your destination," the transport authority said on Twitter.

In the capital, the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport on Tuesday has announced the partial road closure on Hodariyat Bridge from April 17 to 20 to carry out general maintenance work. The department made the announcement on their social media channels regarding the partial closure of two fast lanes approaching the bridge on both direction.
