A man, who raped a boy at his parents' villa, was sentenced to three years in jail by a Dubai court on Wednesday.
The Court of First Instance was told that the 26-year-old Pakistani farmer was left alone with the Egyptian boy to cut his hair. Public prosecution records show the boy got very scared in December last year when the man, who entered his bedroom, sat on his bed and then put his arms around him in a rough manner before forcing himself on him.
The farmer is accused of raping the boy on several occasions - the most recent one was in December last year, at the victim's family house.
The man was convicted of the charge of sexual assault of a male. He appealed the court ruling.
The incident was reported to Al Qusais Police Station in March.
The boy's 57-year-old Egyptian father, a farmer, said that in July 2017, he took his son to a psychiatric hospital as he had some mental problems. "A psychiatrist saw him and had him attend therapy sessions for six months. On February 4, that specialist asked to see me. I heard from him then that my son was sexually abused by a man (the defendant) on several occasions at our house."
The boy told the investigators that he lived with his father and stepmother after his mother's death. His father would often bring the farmer, his colleague, to their villa to cut his hair and that of his brothers. "In December 2016, my parents brought him and left the house."
The boy recounted how that man entered his bedroom and sat next to him on the bed. He asked him about his studies and suddenly hugged and kissed him. He could not push him away or stop him from raping him.
He recalled he was raped on seven other occasions by that man. He confided to his psychiatrist about his traumatic ordeal.
The accused was arrested by officers from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners' Affairs while trying to flee the country on March 22 this year.
