Senior members of the Indian community have praised the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being conferred the Zayed Medal, calling it a high point in Indo-UAE relationship.

Right from the first visit of PM Narendra Modi to the UAE, it was much evident that the leadership of both countries were going to set new benchmarks."
He added: "PM Modi has been instrumental in enhancing the India-UAE friendship to a historic new level. The seriousness with which both countries went about finalising many of the Bilateral treaties and agreements in different sectors, has completely transformed not only the cultural but also the socio-economic relationships between the two great counties."
Ali also said he personally considers the granting of Zayed Medal, the highest UAE civil honour, as not only a recognition for PM Narendra Modi, but also for each Indians working and living peacefully in UAE.
Dr B R Shetty, Abu Dhabi-based businessman and philanthropist, said: "This is a great recognition from the UAE leadership and proud moment for all Indians. PM Modi has played pivotal role in enhancing the UAE-India ties to the level of comprehensive strategic relations.
"This award (Zayed Medal) will not only make our ties stronger and take it to new heights but also encourage every Indian working here to further contribute and be part of the UAE's nation building process. This will also motivate Indians to do more to realise vision of 'New India' under PM Modi's leadership," he added.
Dr Azad Moopen, founder chairman and managing director, Aster DM Healthcare, said:
"It is a moment of great pride to all Indians that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is conferred with UAE's highest civilian award. This is a rare and prestigious honour for a head of state and we all feel proud. The Indo-UAE relationship, which has been historically strong, has become even stronger through this recognition.
