Over 20,000 bottles of counterfeit perfumes were seized in Dubai by the Department of Economic Development (DED) in a raid this week. The items were found in a warehouse in Al-Qusais industrial area.
The seizure came as a response to the complaint filed by one of the company representatives in the local market, Emarat Al Youm reported.
Ibrahim Behzad, Director of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection in Dubai Economy said that inspectors found the warehouse after receiving the complaints.
Technical reports from the company's representatives showed that the perfumes weren't genuine, he added.
Behzad shared that the DED seized counterfeit perfumes that could harm the health of customers. He added that the department will always protect the rights of companies and fight against counterfeit products in the market.
