A flight containing emergency aid for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck Indonesia last month took off from Dubai earlier today.
Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared on social media photos of an Emirates plane being loaded with relief goods.
On Instagram, Princess Haya wrote: "A flight carrying emergency shelter for the people impacted by the Indonesian earthquake has left Dubai." She added that Dubai's International Humanitarian City (IHC) facilitated the transportation of the goods on behalf of Unicef. Princess Haya said that the aid will provide "essential equipment and support to those who need it the most."

A video posted by the International Humanitarian City on Instagram revealed that a total of 92 metric tonnes of aid was sent from Dubai to Indonesia. In a noble gesture, the transportation cost of the cargo aircraft was covered by the Dubai ruler himself.
